Hyperbolic Salad

J and I watched Ted Talk’s Margaret Wertheim: The Beautiful Math of Coral. She spoke of a project in which participants crocheted coral-shaped forms to represent complex ideas of hyperbolic geometry. In the team’s process, it is discovered that nature does not follow mathematically precise algorithms. I can’t pretend to understand these concepts deeply and I can’t help but to recognize some of these beautiful patterns in nature!
